Iran is ready to resume atomic talks with Washington as long as it is approached with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has declared.

The Iranian diplomat declared solely negotiations produced results, and disclosed recent overtures had been made by mediators to reopen discussions with the Trump administration. He said Iran had zero unreported enrichment locations, and Iran had not yet reached a point to allow the International Atomic Energy Agency to visit bombed nuclear sites for security reasons.

Walking a Challenging Path

The foreign minister is treading a challenging course since Iran aims to avoid be seen to be acting from a situation of vulnerability, and he consistently maintained that Iran had arisen more powerful in military terms and mentally from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.

He was addressing at a security conference in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to refine atomic fuel domestically that it will never give up" – the key factor of the stalemate in the earlier negotiations.

Ideal Resolution Proposed

Iran's diplomats said they felt they had achieved a "magic solution" to the nuclear fuel concern in earlier negotiations, when it was agreed an Iran-based consortium with American involvement could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to claim victory since home-based processing would have persisted and the US could be confident that Iran's enrichment initiative was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been decided in the negotiations that US nuclear scientists could work within Iranian territory, but that was a reasonable assumption of the partnership suggestion. Representatives stated three times they had reached agreement with Washington's diplomat Steve Witkoff only for the arrangement to fall apart due to "spoilers in Washington".

Iran's diplomats said the consortium offer was now off the table, but it seems highly likely the offer could be reintroduced in certain ways if talks resume.

Trump in recent days claimed he had been obtaining communications that Iran wanted to reopen negotiations, but privately Tehran representatives state they are not yet getting coherent offers from Washington either directly or from key regional mediators, such as the Qatari government, Egypt, the Omani authorities and Saudi Arabia. The Iranian foreign ministry has been criticized of passivity in the wake of the US president's straightforward manner, but Tehran asserts negotiations is not part of a spectacle.

Diplomatic Stance

In his address to the gathering, designed to depict the US as a controlling nation that exploits the idea of global regulations, Araghchi stated the two-week conflict showed the conflict could not be resolved by combat operations. He said the attacks began with a US demand for an total Iran submission and concluded with an unconditional call for a halt to hostilities.
