Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after powerful weather events passed over the region, generating powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Locals reported large ice chunks measuring up to seven centimeters in certain regions. Meteorological experts announced that various areas across Queensland had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing electricity service throughout the impacted areas, with nearly 70 crews activated to handle the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Weather Woes
Meanwhile, nearly one thousand residents in the southern state also encountered energy failures after Melbourne recorded its wettest day in 18 months.
State Emergency Services responded to 598 calls for help across the area, mostly for structural issues but also for fallen timber and flooding.

Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were forecast to persist along large portions of eastern Queensland this week as a weather pattern continued to pull in damp air against the coastal areas.
The following day was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with continued severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.
Health Warning
Public health experts cautioned that there was an higher risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma across the northern rural areas, particularly given the current weather patterns.
This caution comes after past events where analogous circumstances led to substantial respiratory problems in the state.
